Baby sessions are always a lot of fun. Watching sweet  babies grow is a precious thing to capture. This Knoxville baby session was a true labor of love, because it’s of my own sweet baby Hutchinson, aka “Hutch”. Check out more from this Knoxville baby photographer.

Knoxville Baby Session

If you know me well, you know I’m a privacy nut. For instance, I don’t share many images on social media of my child. I don’t even share many images I take of clients’ children for the same reasons.  Prior to posting, I always get permission. However, on this sweet occasion, I’ve thrown my rules aside and am featuring my sweet little boy here for the first time.

When my son, Hutch grew closer to a year old, I knew I wanted something special to celebrate his first year of life. As a big-hearted little guy with a winning smile and personality, I knew I wanted to create a shoot that didn’t take away from him. I wanted a shoot that enhanced his sweet little personality.

Knoxville Baby Session Inspiration

In my opinion, it’s very difficult to plan a party for a boy who is “all boy”. After a little research on the web, I quickly found very little in this area. For instance, there are plenty of frills and glitter for girls, but very little for boys besides superheroes. Arguably too young for superheroes, I had to find something else. Next I began to think of Hutch’s personality and likes. Hutch is a little tike who loves to play in the garden dirt and grab at little wooly worms crawling by. He also loves to be read to.

Then it hit me! I quickly formed an idea for his party. Fresh greens from the garden and the Velveteen Rabbit-inspired decor.

I contacted Charity of Honeybee Events for help in design and styling. Drawing from inspiration from the Velveteen Rabbit, she created a beautiful indoor garden feel with whimsical placement of ivy on the wall.  Also incorporated were small wooden snails and a frog to enhance the garden-feel.

With earthy invitations by Basic Invite, and ribbons by Boxwood Avenue, a sweet boyish look was obtained. The sweet bunny cake plates by Unique Settings & Rentals completed the Velveteen Rabbit-inspired look.

I couldn’t be happier with how this shoot not only enhanced little Hutch’s personality, but also incorporated a lot of his likes. This session truly embodied his sweet little personality.

In conclusion, I hope you enjoy this sweet little session and celebration of Hutch’s life.
