Of all the beautiful Winston Salem wedding venues, my favorite is Spring House Restaurant, Kitchen & Bar. It’s not hard to see why. This beautifully restored 1920’s mansion, originally owned by the Bahnson family, is a graceful reminder of a time when life was a bit slower. A time when crafters of architecture, landscaping, and food & drink-making were intentional and inspired. The shoot I’m featuring today, reflects all of this beauty and intentionality that Spring House Restaurant Kitchen & Bar so easily lends to its patrons.
Winston Salem Reception Venues
I was honored to be a part of a project for Spring House Restaurant Kitchen & Bar last Spring. A cook book, inspired by the Restaurant’s Chef Tim Grandinetti, named Soulful Harvest. It was such a privilege to work alongside creatives with much more experience in this realm, and to learn from them. But my absolute favorite part of the cook book was the Southern Soiree on the grounds of Spring House. Coming from an event-based background of wedding photography, this was right up my alley. This reminds me of some work from wedding photographers Charlottesville.
The weather was perfect. The dogwood tree happily danced in the breeze, as if celebrating the gathering happening below. The kind staff of Spring House set our community table and then shared a delicious meal of recipes carefully crafted by Chef Tim. There was hearty laughter and smiles, as friends and co-workers passed plates of the delicious bounty shared by Chef Tim.

I love this shoot from a wedding photographer standpoint, because this location is perfect for a reception! I love how the table leads up to the entrance of the house, as if asking the participant to take a stroll inside after eating, and enjoy the beauty that’s on the inside of Spring House.
